FORTIFIED Style Guide
Projects and companies participating in the IBHS FORTIFIED programs are encouraged to use the FORTIFIED marks in promotional materials in compliance with usage guidelines. Companies and individuals using any variation of the FORTIFIED logo for the purpose of advertising must be active, in good standing, and listed on FORTIFIED Service Providers™ database. However, the marks or their likeness may not be used as a company mark or for any other commercial purpose. The FORTIFIED mark is a trademark of the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety, which is responsible for defending against any damaging or confusing uses. IBHS seeks to have the mark widely used to promote the FORTIFIED programs with the understanding that derivative versions of the mark are generally prohibited, as may create confusion among consumers regarding the benefits of FORTIFIED. General usage guidelines may be found lower on the page.
The color version of the FORTIFIED logos shown below should be used. A single color (black) version is available for single-color applications and may be reversed to white when necessary.
No other color options are allowed under the usage guidelines, including incorporating a tint or gradient or other elements. The mark may be used on solid color backgrounds.
Size & Space
It is critical to maintain an open area surrounding the FORTIFIED Home™ mark. The mark must remain recognizable and must not become lost in other page elements.
Suggested defined space guidelines are to allow the width of the letter “F” in FORTIFIED of clearance around the mark.
The mark must always be displayed at a size large enough to read both the mark type and the registered trademark. This will vary based on the resolution of the medium in which it is being used. General guidelines call for the mark height to be no smaller than 1.27 cm (1/5 in.) or 36 pixels.
